LEAP: How Our Program is Different

At ETLC we strive to create the optimum learning environment for children. Our Language Enrichment Academic Program (LEAP) is designed to do just that. LEAP is appropriate for children who have a speech or language delay, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and other delays that affect them academically and/or socially. We describe LEAP as a bridge between where your child is now and where you want them to be. Some children attend LEAP for a few months, reach their goals, and return to a standard classroom setting. Others attend LEAP with the goal of staying in the program for several years. We work with families to determine the best way to meet their child’s academic goals.

Our LEAP classroom is different from a typical classroom in many ways. When you look into the classroom you’ll notice that it’s a bit smaller than a standard classroom in a school. This is because we limit the number of children enrolled in the program to 8-10 students, maximum. With a small group environment, students have an easier time with attention, following directions, and interacting with their peers. In addition, students receive individualized instruction and learn from programs that are designed specifically for them and their needs. With a small group class with minimal distractions, we’re able to see students thrive and learn beyond their goals.
