Are you relieved that it’s summer? After a long school year, you FINALLY get a break from the homework frustration and struggle. School shouldn’t be a place where your child feels discouraged! At Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center, we have options to help your child love to learn.

If you are looking for a supplement to your child’s schooling, or if you are searching for alternatives to a typical classroom we can help!

If your child is struggling in a typical school classroom, feeling discouraged, and disliking school, perhaps it’s time to take a new avenue of learning.  Our LEAP classroom will help your child love learning again.  We offer LEAP for preschool-aged children and school-aged children.

Language Enrichment Academic Program (LEAP) is taught by a teacher with a degree in education.  LEAP is an academic program for students who struggle in school. Our mission is to be a bridge for students to achieve academic success in the shortest amount of time possible. We offer half or full-day programming with very strategic approaches for children who have difficulty with reading, math, and writing. Our strategies are ideal for students who also have difficulty attending to tasks.  We provide individualized learning plans to help each student be successful.  We see children blossom in our program – not only do they achieve academic success, but they gain confidence and realize the joy in reading and learning.

Some students only need a partial year to be able to perform at or above their peers. Imagine that, your child is no longer struggling in school, no more nights of experiencing frustration with homework. Most of all, your child will feel confident in his abilities and have a greater love for learning.

Our LEAP classroom is different from a typical classroom in many ways. When you look into the classroom you’ll notice that it’s a bit smaller than a standard classroom in a school. This is because we limit the number of children enrolled in the program to 8-10 students, maximum. With a small group environment, students have an easier time with attention, following directions, and interacting with their peers. In addition, students receive individualized instruction and learn from programs that are designed specifically for them and their needs. With a small group class with minimal distractions, we’re able to see students thrive and learn beyond their goals.

If your son or daughter would benefit from a boost to help them be successful at school. Enrichment TLC has individual tutoring in reading and math and speech-language therapy.

Tutoring is offered by an experienced teacher with a degree in education.

Reading tutoring provides increased reading accuracy, rate, and fluency, rapid sight-word recognition, intense focus on vowel and vowel combination identification, maximized understanding of phonetic rules, expanded mental visual imagery skills to improve the ability to memorize words, improved spelling accuracy, and visual tracking exercises to increase eye mobility.

Math tutoring engages students and focuses on improving mental imagery of numbers and math concepts. Our learning specialist will work with your child on improving concept understanding for students with dyscalculia and other math delays. Depending on your child’s current math level, understanding in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division will be addressed in functional manners. Additional concepts taught may include fractions, time, money, measurement, geometry, and algebra. By developing several effective problem-solving techniques, your child will be supported in solving conversions and word problems. This will aid in strengthening your child’s logical thinking skills and retention of skills mastered.

Speech-language therapy is provided by one of our certified speech-language pathologists.  Speech therapy will aid in remediating your child’s articulation, phonological or other oral motor speech disorders.  Language therapy remediates expressive and receptive language delays by building language, teaching vocabulary and sentence structure as well as improving comprehension, memory, and understanding.  Our clinicians have extensive experience in identifying these disorders and delays. We provide speech therapy for toddlers, school-aged children, and young adults using research-based methods with treatment plans tailored for each child’s specific needs.

Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center has locations in the Iowa City, IA area and Des Moines, IA area. We provide individual speech-language therapy and tutoring as well as offering small group academic programs.  At Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center our passion is to help kids achieve effective communication skills and gain academic success.  Contact us for more information on how we can help your child succeed.
