Is it difficult for your child to answer open-ended questions? Do you feel like your child might be more successful if choices were included?

At Enrichment Therapy and Learning Center (ETLC) our mission is to create learning opportunities for each child in a fun and meaningful way. Some children have difficulty answering open-ended questions such as “what” and “where.” Another child might be working on choosing between “yes” and “no.” Just as no child is the same, no child learns the same way either. At ETLC we recognize this and strive to create learning opportunities that are individualized to each specific child. In the following video, you will see a clip of a presentation that a student and I gave to fellow classmates in the eLEAP classroom. The theme of this video is “creating choices.” I want each child to be successful; therefore, this video focuses on creating a positive learning experience for this child as he presents the unit we have been learning about to his classmates. How to Create Choices If a child is having difficulty answering open-ended questions such as, 
“What color crayon would you like?” Give them options. Rephrase the questions to: “ Would you like the pink crayon or the green crayon?” Creating choices is evident in my video as I assist the child in choosing what comes next in the plant life cycle.
