I love food. I plan my day around what I am going to eat. When I go on vacation, my itinerary doesn’t revolve around activities- the plans are made based on when and where meals will be. However, when I was growing up, I was a very picky eater. I was the kid that brought along a bag of Wendy’s chicken nuggets to restaurants that my family went to (sorry Mom and Dad). Slowly but surely, I transformed into the foodie that I am now. So, parents- there is hope for your little picky eaters!

Probably the most common food that kids say they don’t like is vegetables. Even if they haven’t tried them! Here are some simple tips to help your child learn to love their veggies!

*Although these tips are geared toward vegetables, many of them can be applied to other foods that kids may be tentative about such as fruits, cheese, or meats.
Most children will eventually learn to accept and enjoy most foods with just a little encouragement and patience. However, if mealtimes are extremely challenging or you are concerned about your child’s weight gain, the number of accepted foods, or choking behaviors, please give us a call. An evaluation at our facility will identify any underlying challenges that may be present and we can quickly begin to find solutions to make mealtimes a more enjoyable experience for your family.
