Sonia Strueby, M.A., CCC-SLP

Founder and Owner, Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center

Sonia Strueby is a speech-language pathologist and the founder and owner of Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center (ETLC), with two physical locations in Iowa serving families across the Johnston and North Liberty areas, as well as families across the state and beyond through virtual services. After earning her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Kansas, Sonia became a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Over more than 25 years as a pediatric speech-language pathologist, she has focused on dyslexia, childhood apraxia of speech, and improving comprehension in students of all ages. In addition, she holds advanced training in PROMPT.

Sonia began her career as an SLP in the school system, where she saw firsthand how limited resources and strict qualification criteria left many students without the support they needed. Because of that experience, she started ETLC so families would have somewhere to turn when a child was falling through the cracks.

Today, ETLC serves children from birth through early adulthood, with experience across a wide range of needs. Because every child learns differently, Sonia and her team work with students individually, acting as a bridge to help children build the foundational skills they need for academic success. Sonia is also known for teaching practical, easy-to-use strategies that parents and educators can carry into everyday life.

Outside of work, Sonia enjoys hiking, Pilates, and spending time with her grown daughters and her golden retriever.

What Families Are Saying

One of our students who used to struggle with math is now in 6th grade, and her mom says math has become her favorite subject. That’s the kind of change we work for.

“Our daughter has grown so much in just 1 year at Enrichment! She has gone from struggling to identify letters and letter sounds to reading chapter books. Her confidence has sky-rocketed, and she truly loves coming to her Enrichment sessions!”

“We appreciate all the expertise from Enrichment Therapy and Learning Center to help with reading skills. Reading used to be so difficult that our son always felt like it was a chore. Now that his reading skills have improved, he is finally able to experience the joy in reading a good book!”

“We are so thankful for the help our son has had over the last two years. He has made such progress and gained more confidence. Listening to him read is amazing, knowing how far he has come and how hard he has worked.”
