Reading Strategies for Kids: Games and Activities to Try

  • Ladder Exercise for Vowels: Vowels are one of the most common reading errors for children learning phonics rules. In this activity, your child works their way up a ladder as they learn short vowels, vowel combinations, and digraphs.
  • Visualizing Sight Words: Does your child have trouble remembering spelling words, especially ones that don’t follow a rule? This process helps convert spelling into long-term memory.
